Scientific activity at IAPM is carried out within the framework of scientific topics approved by the Academic Councils of the Institutes and separate subdivisions of the Academy. The thematic plan of research work is the main document that defines the directions of scientific activity in the institutes and regional divisions of the Academy for the coming years.
The Academy's scientists are united around the following main tasks
- Consolidation of efforts of the scientific community, educators, leaders of state and public associations and organisations in developing ideas and proposals for the formation of a realistic, pragmatic and effective policy of the Ukrainian state in the field of democratic development, educational activities, and solving both local and global problems of mankind;
- achieving the European and world level of fundamental scientific, theoretical and applied research;
- preparation of scientific assessments and forecasts of socio-political, socio-economic and cultural development of the state;
- training of highly qualified scientific personnel;
- promoting further integration of the national intellectual potential into the global scientific, technological, cultural and spiritual space.
The coordination of research activities of the structural units and scientists of the Academy is carried out by the Center for Organization of Scientific Work.
The Center's main tasks include:
- preparation and control over the implementation of research plans;
- ensuring registration of the research activities of the Academy's structural units in the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences;
- ensuring registration of patents for utility models and inventions developed by the Academy's research and teaching staff in the State Register of Utility Models of Ukraine;
- summarizing the results of research activities of the Academy's structural units;
- organizing international, national and general academic scientific events (conferences, seminars, round tables, competitions, etc.) and preparing collections of materials;
- methodological support and support for the activities of the Academy's scientists in preparing scientific articles in international publications indexed by the SCOPUS scientometric database;
- cooperation with the Institute of Innovative Technologies and Educational Content of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on issues of work with students (organization of participation of the Academy's students in All-Ukrainian student scientific competitions, Olympiads, conferences held according to the Ministry's plans);
- organization research work of student.
